Prayer Shawl Ministry/Blankets for Russia

Leader: Harriett Sherman

The Prayer Shawl Ministry meets on the first Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to Noon in Room AUD 203 . Anyone is welcome to come join this ministry: no age limit and no church membership required.

The Prayer Shawl Ministry has three primary goals:

*Intercessory Prayer
*Missions emphasis/support
*The giving of shawls to provide comfort, support and celebration to others while lifting up our Lord.

Ladies who knit, quilt, crochet or want to learn these skills are invited to serve with this group! Even if you don't crochet or knit, please join us for fellowship and be a part of our prayer ministry.

In 2007 we adopted a new initiative: "Blankets for Russia." Our goal is to supply as many blankets as possible to orphanages in the area where IMB missionary Rusty Hart serves.

These blankets can be knitted, crocheted, quilted, homemade, OR store bought. Complete instructions are available in the church office and the welcome center. Remember, these blankets are for infants through teenagers so we need everything from receiving blankets to twin size blankets for the teenagers. This is an ongoing mission project until we meet the needs of the orphanages. Please drop your blankets off at the church office or email Harriett Sherman.

The first shipment of blankets to Russia was sent August 6, 2007.
